What is the salt tray? How do you make coloured salt? What are the benefits of playing with the salt tray?
You can get answers from this handy pack!
❗IMPORTANT❗
Before starting any activity with salt, I set clear rules with my students about what they can and cannot do. Eating from salt is forbidden. Table salt can be dangerous!
So please use your own discretion when deciding what materials your child can safely use for sensory play based on their individual behavior, age, and developmental abilities. You can use instead of salt for example sand, rice, or flour.
Remember though, child safety is the responsibility of adults, not children — so no matter how often you guide your child where safety is concerned, remember that they are not adults and have no understanding or concept of danger.
